In response to a fan?s question about House?s mysterious past, Jacobs replied that in Season Five, ?there will be a road trip with House and [fellow doctor] Wilson that will reach into House?s past.? (Quelle)
Stories about doctors Cuddy and Wilson and their relationship to House will have to be put off until next season, Shore says. (Quelle)
MR: Is there another big concept you?re coming up with for Season 5?
DS: No, you know, we don?t have to do that every year. We?re doing more character stuff. Not a lot more. Because I don?t want to fundamentally change the show, but we can do more, and so we enjoy doing a little more. People have gotten to know these people and they expect certain stuff and there?s a certain amount of shorthand. It?s easier to break the template a little in Season 5 than it was in Season 1, which allows us to explore things while still being true to the show. (Quelle)
MR: So with Kutner and Taub, assuming they stick around, we?ll get to know more about them as time goes on next season?
DS: [We will] do with those guys is what we?ve done in the past with Cameron and Chase ? wring everything we can out of House?s [associates]. What I think makes this show so fascinating is, how does House react to different people? We?ve got the guest of the week and we?ve got the ongoing [characters]. And it?s following that through and getting every little drop out of it. (Quelle)
    Zu Chase und Cameron:

"They will be on the show but they're not going to be on the team - at least not initially," says Shore, who rather likes their new roles at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro teaching hospital. (Quelle)
There are no plans to change [Cameron and Chase?s] fundamental roles, we?re not bringing them back into [House?s] team so fast. (Quelle)
DS: We certainly want them each to have a significant presence [in each episode].
MR: But they aren?t going to be rejoining House?s team, right?
DS: Mmm-hmm [they are not rejoining the team]. (Quelle)
Jesse: I?ve heard a rumor that we will be doing a bit more in season 5. They?re going to bring us back a bit more. But I don?t think they really know yet. I think they?re still trying to suss it out. We?ve just started. We?re doing episode one of season 5 right now. There?s a long way to go ? 24 episodes ? so we?ll see what pans out. (Quelle)
    Zu House/Cuddy:

Regarding the hinted-at relationship between House and Cuddy, a hospital administrator, Jacobs said that fans can expect new developments. ?You have to wait a little bit,? Jacobs told the audience. ?But what would happen if they did end up in bed together one night? That?s kinda interesting,? she added. (Quelle)
MR: The whole Cuddy thing ? is that going to be developed more?
DS: We really want to go there. Hopefully we will get there soon. It won?t be this season.
MR: It?s too much good stuff to try to jam it into the four episodes that end this season?
DS: Yes, exactly, we want to take our time. (Quelle)
MR: Will any of that get tied into the story of Cuddy trying to get pregnant, will that still be an ongoing plot?
DS: I think we?ve left that behind. (Quelle)
    Zu einem möglichen Spin-Off:

I'm jumping back on the House scoopwagon in a big way this week with news that Fox, in collaboration with producer NBC Universal, is quietly developing a House spin-off for next season. As I understand it, producers are introducing a new male character for a multi-episode arc and, assuming the actor they find really pops in the role, he may be spun off into his own show. But there's a twist, and it's a big one: Per multiple sources, this newbie is not a doctor, but rather a private investigator! And no, his name isn't Twitter. (Quelle)

Staffel:

The series has already started filming season five and will continue filming without a break until August ? barring a much-feared actors? strike. (The Screen Actors Guild contract expires on June 30.) In addition to exploring the deepening relationship between House and Cuddy, the fifth season will kick off with a House/Wilson storyline, says Edelstein. ?Their friendship is on the line.? Of course, she added, it?s anyone?s guess what will happen if there?s another strike. (And it?s a distinct possibility). ?We?re all holding our breath; it?s very scary.? It is one reason why they?ve jumped right into season five without the customary break between filming seasons. (Quelle)

Ausiello: Exclusive: Six Feet Under Alum Ready to Play House?

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Michael Weston, best known as Michael C. Hall's psychotic pursuer on Six Feet Under, is in advanced talks to appear on House next season in a multi-episode arc that could lead to his own spinoff.

I spoke with episode scribes Garrett Lerner and Russel Friend Tuesday afternoon, who gave me a couple of nice tidbits for next season and maybe a very, very small taste of what to expect next week. And told me about a very, very exciting addition to the House team. (Nothing really spoilery, if that’s what you were thinking. Sorry.) I look forward to publishing the interview on Monday morning. (Quelle)

    EDIT 2:
A Conversation with Writers Garrett Lerner and Russel Friend

The first 10-episode story arc is already set; several scripts are done, and they are back into production.
And at the start of season five, “House is left in a place where can be is more reflective,” suggested Lerner and Friend. In season five, there will be more emphasis on exploring “what makes House tick and getting into more personal stuff.”
“We know that people are missing some of the old team members. Frankly, we are as well. It’s a juggling act. We have only 42 minutes to tell a story.” And telling the story becomes paramount. “We have to service the story — the medical mystery. The people circling House and circling the medical mystery are going to get screen time. We’re bending our brains in knots trying to figure out how to get the other people into each episode. We’re still struggling. And it’s something on our minds.”
As with many of the series’ fans, Lerner and Friend also have missed those wonderful clinic beats. "Next season,” they promised, “we’re going to try to do more of those. And do more ‘classic’ House episodes. That’s something that got a little bit lost this year.”
So does that mean a ramping up of the 5exy non-relationship between House and Dr. Lisa Cuddy? It’s “under discussion” and “possible” were the only bits of information I could coax out of writers Lerner and Friend. And what of that rumored spin off? “Also possible. And in discussion.”
“Actually, at an earlier point in writing the finale, we discussed bringing him up in part two; but it had to be omitted. He’s somebody we’re very aware of,” they agreed. “He comes up in conversation a lot,” they explained. “But you have to do it properly.” One of the challenges of picking up old threads is that “when we bring up something from four years ago, everyone gets it. We need to find the right way to do [it] so new audiences can understand, while veteran audiences appreciate it, but aren’t the only ones in on it.”

    EDIT 3:
    Die Casting-News:
Michael Weston has been tapped for a multi-episode arc on Fox's "House."
[...] Weston ("Scrubs") will play P.I. Lucas, a private investigator who is as intelligent but not as abrasive as Dr. House (Hugh Laurie). After a trial in a multi-episode arc, the character could become a regular on the hit Fox medical drama or become the center of a spinoff series. (Quelle)

(Quelle)

And at the start of season five, “House is left in a place where can be is more reflective,” suggested Lerner and Friend.
Was soll das denn heißen, "where can be is more reflective"? Müsste es nicht heißen, "where he can be more reflective"?

Are House and Amber Hooking Up? E.P. Katie Jacobs Speaks

E-Mail-Interview von Kristin (E!Online) mit David Shore:

Die 5. Staffel startet am 2. September.

Complete this pattern: Everybody lies, everybody dies, everybody...
Shplies. That's a word I just made up that means "wants more, but there isn't always more."
