"A Dog's Ransom" - Ein neues Filmprojekt für Hugh Laurie???
I received news today from my source at Lionsgate Films that Tom Welling has been cast to play the lead in Ben Affleck's adapdation of Patricia Highsmith's novel "A Dog's Ransom".
Affleck will be directing from a script by Justin Theroux based on the novel.
Tom Welling will be starring alongside Leighton Meester and Hugh Laurie.
From the publisher's description of the novel:
"One day, publishing house executive Ed Reynolds finds a disturbing ransom note in the Manhattan apartment he shares with his wife: "Dear sir: I have your dog, Lisa. She is well and happy... I gather she is important to you? We'll see." As the couple slowly realise the predicament they're in, it becomes painfully clear that an ambitious kidnapper really has hit them where it hurts..."
Apparently Welling is not playing the publishing executive but a young police officer who becomes obsessed with rescuing the kidnapped dog and bringing justice to the kidnapper.

Rob Corddry: It was never my intention to come across as 'smart'
PW: What's been so funny about your show is how you intentionally lampoon doctor show cliches before "Private Practice" or "Grey's Anatomy" earnestly include the same plot in an episode.
Rob: [laughs] Well, it's never been our intention, but it is satisfying to see “House” throw up a billboard with Hugh Laurie in clown make-up.
PW: Yea, there was a minor "they're stealing!" hubbub when that happened. What did you think?
Rob: We all know that there's a 99 percent chance it was a coincidence because I was in the same room as Hugh Laurie after that and it was very clear he had no idea who I was [laughs]. So I doubt they copied us, but it was nice to be in the zeitgeist.
PW: You know what that tells me? Hugh Laurie has terrible taste in comedy. Not just “Children’s Hospital,” but you've taken quite a few throw away characters in movies and made them gems. For example, "What Happens In Vegas." I'd watch you and Lake Bell in a spin-off any day.
Rob: [laughs] Oh that would be fun. Lake and I are actually talking about doing a movie about a brother & sister con team. There’s nothing hotter than a hot girl who is funny.

Wunderbar
